Fairland Farm
Fairland Farm is a thirty-one (31) acre vegetable farm, situated in the Upper Hudson Valley in the Town of Kinderhook. The farm, circa 1800, is known for its iconic red barns and lovingly restored farmhouse. There is a commanding view of the Catskill mountains to the west, which provides a front seat to spectacular sunsets.
The farm is located within minutes of the New York State Thruway, and Interstate 90, yet it is secluded and private. The four bedroom, four and one-half bath farmhouse has both formal and informal spaces and was completely renovated in 2008. Fairland Farm boasts manicured grounds, a heated 20’x50’ in-ground swimming pool, pool house, carriage house, tennis court, and pond.
We utilize sustainable farming practices to protect our premier soils for the raising of crops, and to protect our fresh and abundant water supply. The vegetables grown at Fairland Farm with its partner, Blue Star Farm, find their way into renowned restaurants in the City of Hudson and throughout the Hudson Valley. With its partner, Altobelli Family Farms, the sweet corn grown on Fairland Farm is sold through local farm stands and regionally through Fresh Direct. Our vegetables have won many prizes and accolades for their consistent quality and flavor.
In addition to being a premier vegetable farm, Fairland Farm offers its breathtaking facility and views for destination weddings, parties, and family retreats. This location is an ideal setting for a destination wedding as the cathedral-like barn can host up to eighty (80) people, and by utilizing tents, several hundred can be accommodated comfortably for larger events.
Fairland Farm’s Carriage House is a popular, five-star destination available for bookings through Airbnb, VRBO, and HomeAway.
Fairland Farmtiques is an active, seasonal, retail store on the property, which operates on a part-time basis during late spring, summer, and early fall. There one can purchase farmtiques, antiques, and fresh quality produce.
